Perhaps the best known quote from the commercial series is in this one: "I told the cab driver I just got back from Vietnam … and he was like 'so what?' … So what..."
Produced: June 1984. By this time, the first eight volumes of The Vietnam Experience had been published and the series boasted more than 200,000 subscribers.
Produced: December 1984. The beginning of the marketing rollout for what would become the largest book series marketed by Time-Life Books, with more than 700,000 subscribers, who collectively purchased more than 11 million copies of the books.
